Introduction

This is the first post of the Business News blog. The purpose of it is to inform business owners and other business people about legal decisions, concepts and choices that affect them and their work. It is not intended to be a compendium of caselaw - others have done that and can do it better. Nor is it meant to bore business people with general legal abstracts or overly rigid dissertations on the law. Rather, it is meant to serve as somewhat of a guide: tips, general thoughts, information gleaned from cases, and knowledge gained from practicing for over twenty years. I will try to convey it in a way that non-lawyers understand. And I hope that lay people can gain some understanding of the legal concepts and practical advice that will better allow them to run and participate in their businesses.
